Despite ongoing confusion on whether the Test tour will go ahead at all, the Board of Control for Cricket in India shifted the second Test of the series against England from terror-struck Mumbai to Chennai. The England and Wales Cricket Board had requested a shift in venue as they monitored the situation before taking a decision on the tour.

The BCCI maintained that the Test series would go ahead as per schedule.

After day-long discussions with top BCCI officials on Thursday, ECB representatives had given an assurance to the BCCI to return to India and play the two-match Test series starting on December 11, provided the second match was shifted to a venue in south India. 8220;India8217;s Test series against England will be played as per schedule. Chennai will host the second Test from December 10 to 23, instead of Mumbai,8221; BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement. Baroda, meanwhile, will host the three-day game between the visitors and the Board President8217;s XI.
