Seat transfers flayed

CHANDIGARH, April 27: Three senators of Panjab University belonging to Haryana have condemned the recent decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs to transfer senate seats reserved for Haryana to Punjab.

Addressing media persons, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Haryana MLA, Joginder Singh Yadav of Kurukshetra University and Pawan Valecha said the decision would adversely affect the interests of students from Haryana. They said that nearly one third of the students studying in PU belonged to Haryana, and the decision of the Haryana Government of having disaffiliated its colleges from PU should not be related to the senate seats reserved for Haryana.
