SAS NAGAR, NOV 17: The Punjab School Education Board Non-teaching Employees8217; Association today held a rally in the board premises and thanked the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority PUDA for allotting 7.20 acre land for constructing a residential complex for the board employees and also lauded the efforts of board chairman in this regard.

Addressing the gathering here, union general secretary Jarnail Singh Brar said the admission form of class XII and class VIII should be dealt with fairly.

He said the first and foremost duty of the board employees was that the children do not face any hardship and the union would co-operate in any way.The union members also warned Varinder Kumar to stop using board cars or they would take action against him. He also added that the board should pay the money to PUDA soon, so that the land is allotted quickly and construction work begins.

Auction of sites to resume
The Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority PUDA has decided in-principle to commence the auction of commercial sites in Sector 70 of the township, along the Chandigarh-Mohali-Sohana dual carriageway.

Decision in this respect was taken in a meeting, attended by PUDA Chief Administrator K.B.S. Sidhu, Punjab Chief Town Planner H.S. Bhogal, ACA Mohali Depinder Singh and PUDA Senior Town Planner Jit Gupta.

The spokesman said for the time being, 15 shop-cum-office sites abutting the main road should be sold through open auction, which has been fixed for December 17. The tentative reserve price of each site is expected to be in vicinity of Rs 50 lakh. Liberal controls are being proposed in order to allow the auction purchasers maximum utilisation of space.

Simultaneously, a plot measuring 1545 square metre for a corporate office should also be put to auction on the same day. The overall commercial planning of Sector 70 includes 98 sites for SCOs, 160 sites for doubled storeyed booths, 40 sites for triple-storeyed booths, four hotel sites, six corporate office sites and one site for petrol pump, he said.

The engineering wing of PUDA has also been instructed to commence immediately the civil works in the area, so that the surrounding to this complex can be beautified.
