From Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to public service broadcaster Doordarshan, everyone who is anyone in the UPA Government seems ready to celebrate former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi8217;s 60th birth anniversary on Friday in a big way. Following are some of the programmes lined up for the day.

8226; PM Manmohan Singh will unveil life-size statue of Rajiv Gandhi sculpted by Latika Katt next to Parliament Annexe. Statue was donated to CPWD by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.

8226; Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat will be chief guest at the function organised by Urban Development Ministry.

8226; Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will be guest-of-honour and her children, Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra and MP Rahul Gandhi, are special invitees.

8226; Shiv Sena members to boycott the function. A party MP says this is their answer to Congress MPs8217; boycott of unveiling of Damodar Veer Savarkar8217;s portrait in Central Hall of Parliament.

8226; Doordarshan to devote close to one hour and 15 minutes to the celebrations. News capsules lasting two minutes each, six in all, will focus on Rajiv Gandhi.

8226; At 10.05 am, DD National, at the behest of senior officials in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, to show a special documentary on Rajiv Gandhi culled from the archives.
