Satara traders support Govt decision

Gopal Seth informed Express Newsline, 8220;The Government is in profit with abolition of octroi. The turnover tax introduced in the place of octroi fetches about Rs. 9,000 crore to the government whereas the total collection of octroi by the municipalities was much less.8221; He said that the government has promised to send the amount to the municipalities every first week of the month. The amount would be equal the octroi collection and also, he said, the government would increase the amount by 10 percent every year.
