NEW DELHI, July 28: Fine spell of medium pace bowling by Agnesh (4 for 22) and accurate left-arm spin by Anshul Lamba (3 for 17) helped Sarvodaya School, Shankaracharya Marg beat Salwan Boys School by two wickets to enter the final of Sabharwal Challenge Cup at Salwan Boys School. Salwan Boys had remained unbeaten in the last two years of the tournament.
Deciding to bat first, Salwan Boys ran into early trouble and were dismissed for 136 in 29.3 overs. Kumar Gaurav (49) and Tarun (32) were their main scorers. The rest of the batsmen could not stand up to the pace and spin combination of Agnesh and Anshul.
In reply, Sarvodaya made the requisite runs in 29.4 overs, losing eight wickets in the process. Anshul Lamba (28) was the top scorer. Medium pacer Chetan Sharma captured two wickets for 33 runs.
