Lucknow, May 10: Top seeded Rushmi Chakravorthi sailed into the quarter-finals of the ITF Women8217;s Masters tennis with a 6-3, 6-1 win in a one-sided match as the opening day of the tournament went on expected lines today.

Mumbai-leg winner Radhika Tulpule, seeded third here, stormed past unseeded Harsimran Kaur Bedi 6-1, 6-1 to be on course for the title at Oudh Tennis Club grass courts here.

Unhearalded Geeta Manohar and Sumitra Rao also joined their better known rivals in the quarters with comfortable victories. Manohar defeated Nikita Bhardwaj 6-2, 6-2 while Rao beat Nandini Perumal 6-2, 6-0 in the field of 16.
