Bacardi Blast of a timeWhat a blast it was. After a lull on the party scene, Bacardi Blast at Ambrosia on Saturday, a part of the series of the Bacardi Millennium countdown shows, was a perfect beginning for the oncoming winter. The five-thousand strong crowd rocked till the wee hours of Sunday morning. With the party kicking off after 10 p.m., Ambrosia was the place to be, with party animals crawling all over. DJ Ivan took the crowd through the rocking sixties, the psychedelic seventies, followed by the disco eighties, and then the techno nineties. He played Elvis, Boney M, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin.Channel V VJs Yudishter and Peeya got the crowd swinging to Ivan's beats. Yudishter had the girls swooning. The petite and pretty Peeya had the guys watching her moves. VJ Ranvir did the Michael Jackson act. Ex-Channel V VJs Ira and Maya were spotted. So were models Rohit Chopra, Jean Pereira, Sandeep Soparkar and fashion photographer Pradeep Shetty. All the pretty young things (PYTs) had turned up in their best. Black was very in. The guys looked dressed more for comfort. And there were prizes for the girl with the best smile, best dancing couple. The girl who jumped the highest contest saw many being lifted onto the shoulders of guys. The security kept the party crashers and party-poopers at bay and prevented the VJs from being mobbed.
