Rohtak contractor brutally murdered

ROHTAK, MARCH 19: Ramesh Malik, a contractor and a resident of Sector-14 of the Haryana Urban Development Authority was brutally murdered during the wee hours of the morning, here today.

According to sources, two youths in their early twenties, threw stones at Malik8217;s house at around 2 a.m. and asked him to open the door. Malik woke up his wife and son Sidharth 18. He unlatched the door and came out to catch holdof the youths. The latter took to their heels and jumped the boundry wall of the house. Malik chased them bare-foot. According to sources, he was hit on the head by the assailants as his son, on reached the spot, found him lying in a pool of blood.

He was rushed to medical college where he was declared dead.A case has been registered in civil lines police station, under Sections 458, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile,the two youths also reportedly made an abortive attempt at theft in two other houses in sector 14. However,no arrests have been made so far.

The Superintendent of Police P.K. Aggarwal said all aspects of the case were being examined and the police would nab the assailants soon.
