Robbers nabbed

PUNE, OCT 15: Two youths were arrested by Pimpri police after they attacked five persons including two policemen, in an attempt to rob the passengers of a jeep at Chinchwad on the busy Mumbai-Pune highway recently.

The two alleged robbers, Sunil Anant Durge 25 and Vilas Lahanu Shelar 24, were produced before a Judicial Magistrate First Class this afternoon. The magistrate remanded them to police custody till October 16.

Police said Durge and Shelar tried to kill Pimpri police head constable Vazir Shaikh, constable Vijay Ambre, Gurav Pimple, resident Inayat Shakruddin Shaikh, Babu Kutti Koshi and Vimal Manohar Jadhav with swords and a revolver.
