Roadies turn rowdies

It was after four group discussions that the crowd turned violent, around 11.30am. 8220;We had conducted about four group discussions, each having 20 people, when suddenly a large group of boys started creating a ruckus and forced the gates open,8221; said Vishal.

The auditions, which were spread over three days from October 3 to 5, were finally cancelled till the management finds itself a new venue and zeroes in on another date schedule 8212; information on which might be found on the MTV website or the channel.

The sixth season of Roadies plans to take 20 contestants to Australia to fight for a prize money of Rs 10 lakh. While a total of 7,000 people had turned up for auditions in Delhi last year, this year the number seemed to have gone up to anywhere between 8000 and 9000.

8220;The show has a cult following and we are already through with conducting auditions in four cities. Everything has gone smoothly so far. It8217;s unfortunate that something like this would happen in Delhi because it is one of our favourite cities and we get some of the best contestants from this city,8221; added Vishal.

A senior Delhi Police official said the police were not 8220;informed about such a huge turnout8221;.
