MUMBAI, May 31: Rizvi Sports Club annexed the Western India Football Association WIFA Division I knockout title with a 2-0 victory over Camponeroes at Cooperage here today.

Parveen Goveas put Rizvi ahead in the 12th minute and Sanjeev Samuel increased the tally in the 37th minute after resumption to seal the fate of Companeroes.

BIG WIN FOR BORIVILIANS: Borivilians Sports recorded an easy 3-0 win over Ace XI in a match of the MDFA tournament for the JC Maitra Cup at the St Xavier8217;s Sports Complex, Parel today. H Patil, Rajiv Jose and Vijay Anand scored a goal each for the winners.

DAWER STRETCHED: Fancied players 8212; Kamal Tulshan, Chirag Ramakrishnan and Jitender Dawer advanced into the semi-finals of the CCI Open Snooker Championship in impressive fashion at the CCI Club today.

Unlike Dawer, who was stretched the distance by Mahesh Chhabria, Tulshan and Ramakrishnan had a fairly smooth sailing.

Ashok Shandilya and state junior champion Manav Panchal entered the snooker semi-finals.
