Restaurant staff kidnapped, robbed

According to police, the incident took place at around 10.30 pm when Shah was heading home after work.

Ravi and Nayan, who were following Shah on a two-wheeler, had forced him to ride with them by allegedly threatening him at gunpoint.

The duo took Shah to a deserted place near Shankar Bhavan in Shahpur, where Nishant was waiting with seven other people.

The group allegedly lead by Nishant, Ravi and Nayan started beating up Shah. 8220;They later robbed him of his money and gold chain and fled from the site,8221; said Inspector J M Desai of Navrangpura police.

A profusely bleeding Shah was immediately rushed to V S Hospital, where police recorded his statement on Wednesday morning. All the accused have been booked on charges of assault and robbery. The police are investigating the case.

Earlier, on Tuesday afternoon, one Sneha Vakharia of Maninagar had complained that two unidentified persons robbed her of cash and valuables worth Rs 5.87 lakh.
