Reliance146;s Jamnagar SEZ okayed

Mukesh Ambani8217;s proposed multi-million Jamnagar SEZ today got cleared by the Supreme Court with the apex court refusing to interfere with the Gujarat government8217;s decision to acquire land for the project. It was made clear that any inadequacies in the grant of compensation could be challenged but not the acquisition per se. The Gujarat High Court had earlier upheld the land acquisiton saying that when the Deputy Collector came to the villages to conduct inquiry about the status of the land, the petitioners had willingly participated and had not raised any objection.
