
Morocco8217;s Belqola to officiate final
FIFA said they have selected Morocco8217;s Said Belqola, a 41-year-old customs inspector, to referee Sunday8217;s World Cup final between defending champions Brazil and hosts France at the Stade de France. Belqola officiated the Germany v United States tie on June 15 at the Parc des Princes as well as the June 26 match between Argentina and Croatia at Bordeaux.
Marc Warren of England and South Africa8217;s Achmat Salie will be Belqola8217;s assistants, with Saudi Arabia8217;s Abdel Rahmane el Zeid as reserve referee.Paraguay8217;s Epifanio Chavez will referee the third place play-off match on Saturday between Holland and Croatia at the Parc des Princes with Vanuatu8217;s Lencie Fred and Malta8217;s Emmanuel Zammit running the line.
Urs Meier of Switzerland will be reserve referee.
