PATNA, FEB 18: With the State administration in total disarray, the Ranabir Sena, the private army of the upper caste landlords, has decided to make the most of the situation.
The Sena, which held an emergency meeting of its senior leaders on February 16 in Patna, has directed its members to get ready for another major attack.
Coming as it does in the wake of the killing of seven people in Usri Bazar by suspected CPI ML PWG activists, this decision has sent distress signals in police circles. DGP T P Sinha called a high-level meeting immediately to discuss the situation.
According to sources, Sena mukhiya chief Barmeshwar Singh told his men to keep a watch on the activities of the Naxalite outfits in the State. He said the Naxalites may take advantage of the administrative anarchy and launch fresh attacks on villages dominated by Bhumihars.
Singh vowed to avenge the killing of seven persons in Usri Bazar on February 12. He said his Sena would give a proper reply to the Naxalite outfits thatwould make their 8220;souls and hearts tremble in fear8221;.
Singh called upon the rank and file to keep up the offensive until the State administration comes out to provide security to landlords.
The Sena is a contingent of 300 people loyal to Singh, and who take orders from him. Though the Sena has a well-organised set-up, Singh has over the years emerged as the sole commander.
