Rajini hits ton as AP overcome TN

April 15: Rajini Venugopal hit a fine century as Andhra Pradesh scored a comfortable 94-run win over Tamil Nadu in the first round of the Rev Katakshammaa memorial trophy all-India women8217;s cricket tournament here today.

Batting first AP put up a fighting 208 for 6 in their stipulated 35 overs and then restricted Tamil Nadu to 114 for 8. Rajini was involved in a fruitful stand for the third wicket with Purnima Rau 50. Rajini8217;s knock was studded with 15 fours.

Tamil Nadu never looked like achieving the target after they lost opener Hamswali 2 to medium pacer Suwarna Lakshmi. K Sunitha, an offie, struck three vital blows to seal every hope Tamil Nadu harboured.
