Chatterjee was leaving for home about 6:45 p.m. when the Rajasthan Government delegation came to meet him at Writers Building. The delegates introduced themselves and sought to talk to him but he said he wouldn8217;t meet them as they didn8217;t have an appointment.
An argument followed, in front of mediapersons and TV crews, but the minister refused to budge. The delegates, seeking to speak for the Marwari businessmen, who are originally from Rajasthan, had earler met Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi and submitted a memorandum.
They demanded a CBI inquiry into the fire that began early on Saturday morning raged for over three days before firemen finally put it out on Monday.

The delegates also met West Bengal8217;s Minister for Relief 038; Rehabilitation Mortaza Hossain before reaching Chatterjee8217;s office.
8220;We introduced ourselves. The fire minister said that he had no time. He said that he doesn8217;t meet anyone without appointment. He told us to meet the Chief Minister. We felt insulted. We came all the way from Rajasthan. What if the minister is treated this way when he goes out? I will raise the issue in Parliament. We will take up the matter with our Chief Minister,8221; Maheria said.
Chatterjee maintains he did not meet them only because they didn8217;t have appointment.
