MUMBAI, AUG 29: The eighth day of the A Division Kanga League turned out to be a dull affair as all seven matches played on Sunday failed to produce a result. Early morning showers, in fact, was a dampener resulting in most matches being delayed.

Defending champions National Cricket Club, Dadar Union and Cricket Club of India extended their reign at the top in the standings logging 21 points each as they drew their matches with their respective rivals today.

Left-hander Ashish Parulekar was unlucky to miss a century by two runs 98: 111b, 8215;4 but helped Dadar Union post 215-4 against Victory Cricket Club in a drawn tie at Shivaji Park Gymkhana.

National left-arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni8217;s 6-27 six-wicket haul went in vain as the PJ Hndu Gymkhana last wicket pair of Vishal Tawade 0 and Manish Sakhalkar 0 withstood the onslaught at Cross Maidan.

Vishal Mahadik8217;s fine exhibition of medium-pace bowling formed the highlight of the B Division matches. The Worli Sports Club bowler returned remarkablefigures of 16.5-3-39-8 and enabled his team to a 96-run success over Fort Vijay.

The result ensured Worli Sports Club8217;s position at the top of standings. They have tallied 28 points so far.
