NEW DELHI:The AICC session to ratify the appointment of Sonia Gandhi as party president will be held here on April six. Making the announcement, party spokesman V N Gadgil said the session would be held in Siri Fort auditorium here. He said the session was convened to ratify the appointment of Sonia Gandhi as the new party president replacing Sitaram Kesri.

Tension averted

AHMEDABAD: Police today foiled bid by some miscreants to create tension in the sensitive Dariapur locality and other areas in the walled city. A group of miscreants were forcing shop-owners to down shutters in the locality in protest against the killing of six Mumbai-based gangsters in a police encounter on Monday.
