Dhurandhar is an ‘artistic craft’ of cinema, says Subhash Ghai: ‘It deserves all its commercial success’

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues to make noise at the box office even a month after its release. Along with its commercial success, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has also been earning praise from the film industry. On Monday, filmmaker Subhash Ghai showered praise on the film. Revealing that he saw Dhurandhar just yesterday, he called it an ‘artistic craft’ of cinema.

Ghai took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of Aditya Dhar. Along with the post, he lauded the director and wrote in the caption, “Hi Aditya. U deserve beyond congratulations for making this artistic craft of cinema at commercial platform in HINDI INDIAN CINEMA. I saw the film yesterday n can’t stop praising your sense of details in story telling in chapters its conflicts , challenges, characters casting costumes cinematography n believable action n sets with brilliant performance of even smallest characters on screen with a world of Pakistani gangs some time ago.”

The filmmaker added, “It deserves all its commercial success it got n I feel proud of u n your team of DHURANDHAR with all my blessings.”

Besides Subhash Ghai, several other directors have also praised the film and its performances, including Anurag Kashyap, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, and Priyadarshan.

Besides Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar also featured Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles. Written, co-produced and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has crossed the Rs 1200 crore mark at the worldwide box office, ranking as the fourth highest grossing Indian film ever. Fans are now looking forward to the sequel of the film, Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on March 19, 2026.
