BJP MP quits LS seat
HUBLI: Vijayanand Sankeshwar, BJP MP, has quit his Lok Sabha seat and has decided to boycott the Parliament, because he says, party leaders are humiliating and neglecting him. He said many other MPs were facing a similar situation. Sankeshwar said another reason for his resignation was the shifting of railway zonal office from Hubli to Bangalore.
Assam ambush
GUWAHATI: Three soldiers were killed and six others, including a brigadier of the Bhutan Royal Army, hurt in an ambush by extremists at Rangapani in Assam today. The extremists waylaid the convoy of Brigadier Patoo Tshring when he was proceeding towards Patacharkuchi in Assam.
Ex-minister held
MORENA: Ram Niwas Rawat, a minister in Digvijay Singh8217;s previous government in Madhya Pradesh, and two of his supporters have been held after they allegedly threw stones and ransacked shops at Vijaypur in Sheopur district following defeat in the recent Assembly elections.
