
Film world will get industry status
MUMBAI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday announced the film industry would be granted the status of an industry. quot;It was long due. It should have been done much earlier,quot; Swaraj said. quot;If you want the cinema to get rid of mafia money and underworld, then you have to give them good finances,quot; she said. The minister said there was no need for parliament to pass a bill for granting industry status to the film industry, adding a government order was enough for the purpose.
