
CHANDIGARH, July 20: Teachers of private colleges of Chandigarh will proceed on mass casual leave tomorrow to protest the non-acceptance of their demands regarding pay-scales.
In a press statement, the president of the District Council of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers’ Union (PCCTU), Dr Rabinder Nath Sharma, said the teachers are proceeding to Delhi to join the all-India demonstration in front of Parliament House.
The PCCTU finance secretary, N.P. Manocha, criticised the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development for not releasing the UGC. Teachers all over the country have also threatened to proceed on an indefinite strike in case their demands are not accepted.
