PUTA panel polls on August 25

Chandigarh, Aug 16: Elections to the Panjab University Teachers8217; Association PUTA Executive Committee for the year 1999-2000 will be held on August 25.

Releasing the list of nominations quot;found valid,quot; outgoing secretary M. Rajivlochan stated that the withdrawals for elections would be received till 5 p.m. on August 17. Among those in race for the post are AIFUTA president P.P. Arya, S.C. Kaushal from the Botany department and Sahib Singh Bhayana, from the Department of Correspondence Studies, the release stated.

While Harjinder Singh Chemistry, Ravi Mahajan DCS and Tankeshwar Kumar Physics have reportedly filed nominations for the post of PUTA secretary. Other posts for which elections are being held are that on a vice-president, a joint-secretary, a treasurer and 13 executive members, it was added.
