PUNE, Oct 12: Pune Division represented by Fergusson College lifted the Zonal badminton under-19 boys title beating Ahmednagar 2-0 in the final played at the WIE Sports Complex here today. In the distaff section of the same age group, Pune SP College claimed the title at the expense of Ahmednagar SSGM College 2-0.

Varun Khanwalkar disposed of A Aditya 15-1, 15-4 to put the Pune boys ahead before Ajit Phatak sealed the issue with 15-6, 15-7 over S Sumit.

Pune overall made a clean sweep bagging all titles at stake in the under-14, 17 and 19 sections respectively. Four divisions which included Solapur, Ahmednagar, Raigadh and host8217;s Pune took part in the one-day championship.

Meanwhile, the winners will proceed for the State championships to be held in Chandrapur. However the dates and venue have not been finalised.
