PUC certificates
Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Pollution Under Control Centres Association has urged Transport Minister Diwakar Raote to take action against the owners of vehicles causing pollution. In a memorandum submitted to the minister, the association has sought penalisation of vehicle owners who do not possess the mandatory Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates.
The memorandum, signed by association president Bharat Kalke, has said that with regard to air pollution, Pune ranks fifth in the country and added that unless action is taken against defaulters, no one will obtain the PUC certificates.
