Helping the pensionersLending a helping hand to aged, the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress has begun a unique facility to assist the defence civilian pensioners to fill the new forms as per the directives issued by the Central Government.The office of the Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension) has said that no action will be taken on pension revision applications forwarded earlier by the pre-1986 pensioners but such applications will be returned promptly by the office.The pre-1986 civilian pensioners of the defence departments have been asked to forward fresh applications in four copies. Around 2200 pensioners have benefitted from this move, said general secretary Vijay Shewale.Meal with blind kidsThe employees of maintenance division of the Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital had a meal along with the students of the Blind School, Koregaon Park, on Thursday as a part of the Ganesh festival celebrations. The meal was attended by 140 blind students and hospital's maintenance employees and engineers.
