Black Day by striking teachers
The agitating university and college teachers will observe Teachers Day on September 5 as black day8217; and wear black ribbons as a mark of protest against the Centre8217;s indifference towards their demand for implementation of the UGC recommended revised pay scale.

A press note issued by Pune University Teachers8217; Association PUTA today said the association will participate in the action devised by All India Federation of University and College Teachers8217; Organisations'AIFUCTO to intensify the stir at its national executive meeting held in New Delhi on Monday. The teachers will stage morchas in their respective state capitals on September 1 and will court arrests in New Delhi on September 4.

Delayed water
Water supply to Pimpri-Chinchwad will be delayed on Saturday evening and will be at below normal pressure as power supply to Ravet raw water pumpingstation will be closed between 12 noon and 4 p.m. for major repairs.

Meet on liver diseases
Department of pathology, Armed Forces Medical College, AFMC will conduct a meet on liver diseases under the auspices of the International Academy of Pathology, Indian division, on August 30. AFMC Commandant Lt. Gen. B B Dutta will inaugurate the meet.
