Milind Rajore, of the handwriting analysis fame, is onto a new venture these days. The graphologist visited the Yerawada Central Prison on July 16 with his group of students. The express mission was the collection of handwriting samples of some of the prisoners.

Once there, the team obtained some 50 samples belonging to prisoners convicted for crimes ranging from murder to fraud. 8220;I had written to the Inspectorate of Prisons seeking permission for collecting these samples. Once that was granted, we got cracking on the job,8221; enthuses Rajore. The job in question is to delve into the backgrounds of the prisoners, by trying to analyse their childhood through their handwriting. Rajore is certain that the seeds of most crimes lie embedded in a person8217;s growing-up years.

8220;Lack of love and attention makes more criminals than poverty and greed,8221; reveals the handwriting analyst, adding that this is the first time such an exercise in grapho therapy is being carried out in India. The aim: to show how the initial years of a person8217;s life can make or mar him. And, according to the graphologist, it8217;s a fact clearly written down in the prisoner8217;s own handwriting.

Netting in film buffs
At long last, here8217;s enough incentive to get an internet connection. For the first time in the city, we have on-line bookings for movie tickets. The first and as of now the only theatre to start this practice is Mangala. From last Friday onwards, it had an entire row for the matinee show available for booking on the net. The concept has been introduced in the city by Cyber Globe, a Chennai-based firm.

According to its representative, Seema Zaveri, all those desirous of getting bookings done on the net have to first log onto the site clicktickets.com. The site comprises windows that represent each of the 28 balcony seats available. The user just has to click on the number of seats required, key in his name and e-mail address and enter book8217;. The seats would then be booked in the name and a code number allotted. This code number has to be taken to the movie theatre half an hour before the show, to obtain the required tickets. 8220;The response has been overwhelming. While on the first day we had just five to six seats left, for the next two days, the booking was full. From July 24, we will make available tickets for all the three shows, not just the matinee,8221; adds Seema.

While a service charge of Rs 10 per ticket is being levied right now, she hopes this will come down once other theatres like Westend and Apollo, that have evinced interest, join in. Are black marketeers sweating out there or just heading for the nearest net cafe to keep up with the times?
