NACT meet on Thursday
The National Association of Computer Trainers Pune Chapter will hold its annual meeting on Thursday at Hotel Sagar Plaza.

The meeting will discuss how computer training and education providers in the city can promote and protect their interests through NACT. Varun Prasad, president, NACT will be the chief guest. Interested persons may contact on telephone number 4441035 for further details.

Live workshop on cardiology n A LIVE workshop on interventional cardiology was held at the Ruby Hall Clinic. A total of 24 cases were dealt with including the successful operation of an eight-year-old child who had a defective aortic valve. Another operation involved opening of the left main stem of the coronary artery with a Rotablator.

A team of 12 cardiologists from the United States, Australia and France performed the operations in association with local cardiologists. The live transmission of these techniques was from Ruby Hall Clinic via satellite to over 1,000 delegates attending the World Congress of Cardiology at Mumbai.

Deming birth anniversary n THE Deming Forum India celebrated Dr Deming8217;s 99th birth anniversary at the Asian Institute of Human Resource Development in the city.

Dr W Edward Deming was the first in the line of quality gurus who was recognised in Japan for his teaching and guidance in quality management. The Deming prize was established in Japan in 1951. The Deming Forum is an educational and research organisation backed by the approach to management by Dr Deming. Present at the function were S B Tillu, CEO, Hinoday Industries Ltd and others. It was presided over by Dr P C Shejwalkar.

CMP celebrates raising day
The Corps of Military POlice CMP celebrated its raising day on Monday.The first section of the Corps of Military Police was raised in 4 Indian Division during the North Africa campaign. Thereafter the CMP was raised on October 18. The Southern Command Provost Unit, which is one of the oldest units of the CMP, celebrated the raising day by organising a Bara Khana.8217;

15-year-old missing
Devendra Ravindra Laulkar, a 15-year-old boy residing in the vicinities of Deep Bungalow Chowk in Shivajinagar area, has been reported missing since Monday morning.

Chatuhshrungi police said Devendra left home without informing anyone on Monday morning and did not return. He is about five feet and eight inches tall, fair complexioned and has a birth mark on his left cheek, police said.
