Gang on rampage at Bopodi; 8 held

Vinod G Swamy of Bopodi and his wife Jaya, who were travelling in an autorickshaw were seriously injured in the attack. They have been admitted to a private hospital, Khadki police said. Besides, the mob manhandled several others and damaged an autorickshaw, they added.

Among the arrested persons were Gopinath M Gaikwad 31, Pappu alias Jayraj K Pillai 21, Datta D Mahurkar 19, Ashok K Kegar 19, Subhash S Jadhav 19, Dipak S Waghmare 19 Raju A Pillai 29 and Ganesh K Jadhav 24 all residents of Bopodi.

Police said Uttam Kamble, Jayraj Pillai, Dipak Waghmare and Ganesh Jadhav were history-sheeters.
