Rail traffic disrupted
All the trains plying on the Pune-Kolhapur-Miraj section of South Central Railways came to a standstill for as many as 18 hours after nine bogies of a goods train derailed between Shindavane and Ambale railway stations on Thursday afternoon. Nobody was injured in the mishap.

Officials from the General Railway Police (GRP) control room in Pune said the goods train was coming towards Pune from Satara when the mishap took place around 4 pm last afternoon. Rail traffic on both the up and down lines came to a grinding halt till the derailed bogies were shifted at 10 am on Friday.

The Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express train and Kolhapur-Pune-Nagpur Sahyadri Express were stranded at Saswad Road railway Station. The Delhi-Goa Nizamuddin Express and Kagpur-Pune-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express were terminated at Pune Railway Station. Kolhapur-Mumbai Mahalaxmi Express reached Pune around 1 pm on Friday, according to the GRP officials.
