Match referee Mike Procter was reportedly ‘satisfied’ with the security arrangements, after he had a meeting with the police commissioner VV Rabari to review the situation following unsavoury crowd behaviour in Jamshedpur and Nagpur.

‘‘It should be ok here,’’ he said, his eyes gliding around the top of the shamianas covering the stands.

But Procter said it wasn’t so much the security as the ‘‘crowd control’’ which is what ‘‘got out of hand in Jamshedpur and Nagpur’’.

In his opinion, he said, it happened at both the venues because India were losing, but hoped ‘‘it isn’t a trend’’.

Procter said there were enough cops in Jamshedpur and Nagpur, as there are here, ‘‘but the problem is there are too many cops watching cricket and not the crowd.’’ At one stage, the former South African all-rounder had even said that the West Indians would have walkd out after the crowd trouble at Nagpur.
