Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Yusuf Pathan,who returned to form in their win over Rajasthan Royals,thanked his skipper Gautam Gambhir for backing him when he was going through a difficult patch.
8220;The biggest thing for me is Gambhir8217;s support. He has handled me really well. I had never felt that I was going through a difficult patch. I was always relaxed. The team and the support staff backed me very well,8221; Yusuf said after striking an unbeaten 49 last night.
8220;The big thing for me is that I8217;ve a brother like Irfan,captain like Gambhir who has always supported me. My family understands the game and has always backed me.8221; Yusuf further said that he enjoyed batting with Jacques Kallis during their unbroken 78-run stand for the third wicket.
8220;It feels good to finish well,especially when you play alongside a legend like Jacques Kallis. When I was playing aggressive,he kept guiding me,8221; he said. Stranded on 49,he missed a half-century but Yusuf said,8221;I8217;m more satisfied as I could win the match. 50 will come in some other matches. It8217;s just a number for individual achievement.
