Two pilots killed in Russian fighter jet crash: official

Military aircraft crashes are frequent in Russia,with accidents blamed on equipment failures.

A Russian Mig-31 fighter jet crashed in the Perm region of Russia8217;s Urals today,killing both its pilots,the defence ministry announced.

The rescue group arrived on the scene and established that the crew of the fighter jet was killed, defence ministry spokesman Colonel Igor Konashenkov told the official ITAR-TASS news agency.

He said that the plane was not carrying weapons.
