New chapter opened in Indo-Pak ties: Krishna

Let us admit that there is a trust deficit between the two countries and the gap was becoming bigger and bigger between India and Pakistan. However,both are working to narrow the gap,8221; External Affairs Minister S M Krishna,who is on a three day visit to Dhaka,said addressing top Bangladeshi editors.

8220;All this is culminating in the Pakistan Foreign Minister8217;s visit to Delhi on July 26-27,8221; he said,adding 8220;these are all positive signs having beneficial impact on the bilateral relationship.8221;

At present Pakistan has no foreign minister. Minister of State for foreign affairs Hina Rabbani Khar is tipped to be elevated as full fledged minister before her India visit to facilitate dialogue with Krishna.

8220;India is as comfortable dealing with a military regime as with a civilian government,8221; Krishna said,while responding to a question if India was more comfortable in dealing with a dictatorial regime in Pakistan.
