Narang set to make big bore debut

8220;It8217;s a good way to start the competition season,8221; the 29-year-old told The Indian Express on Monday.

Narang said he was looking forward to this new challenge which requires taking 60 shots in 90 minutes. 8220;The recoil is not too much of a bother,it8217;s challenging and I quite like it,8221; Narang added.

Interestingly,the ace shooter will have to loan a gun since he doesn8217;t own one himself. It will likely be of former double trap national champion Ajay Mittal.

8220;At the moment I have a couple of portions on different kind of rifles. I will train tomorrow and try to figure out what I am comfortable with,8221; Narang said.

Three years ago,Narang nearly made his debut in this event at Mhow,Madhya Pradesh,but pulled out at the last moment.

This time,though,he is prepared and if everything goes according to plan,he may even go on to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year. 8220;If I am good enough,why not? There is still some time before they happen. Let8217;s see how it goes,8221; he said.

And an extra event in the portfolio means a chance for a bigger medal haul for Narang,who had won multiple gold medals in Melbourne and Delhi Commonwealth Games. 8220;If my talent and hard work can be used for winning more medals then why not?8221;
