John Carpenter,the 63-year-old director who is one of the greatest horror directors of all times and has to his credit movies such as Halloween and The Thing,is now making a comeback with his new movie,The Wardset to be released in July. The Ward,is a period piece set in the 1960s and is about a woman Amber Heard in a mental institution who believes that someone is killing her patients. The movie is an old fashioned gothic suspense.

Adele is No. 3 with her album 21 which sold 101,000 units in its 18th week. Jackie Evancho,the 11-year-old singer from Americas Got Talent,is No. 4 with Dream With Me which sold 77,000 copies.
Beginning of the Great Revival,the movie which opened last week in China is part of a government campaign to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party on July 1. It is also playing in 29 American theatres. Government offices and schools are buying tickets in bulk and organising viewing trips in the middle of the workday,and there are officially sanctioned movie review contests,presentations of paintings inspired by the film and group singing of classic Communist songs at cinemas. The film claims to have a cast of 178 of the most well-known Chinese-language actors.
