With the four captains for Kolkata Knight Riders KKR idea being put in cold storage,Sourav Ganguly is focussing on a better show in the second edition of the IPL,and feels that the controversy will not affect performance.

Its time now to move on. Everybody is a professional. Everybody wants to live up to expectations. We didnt have a good performance last year. We have to ensure we play better cricket this time, Ganguly said during a promotional event here on Thursday.

The four-captain theory, first suggested by KKRs director of cricket operations John Buchanan, was shelved after a meeting with franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan earlier this week.

Asked about the decision to choose Bloemfontein as the teams base in South Africa,he said: Its a collective decision but Adrian le Roux, our fitness trainer, had a major say, since he comes from Bloemfontein. He knows the ground and the conditions there, and that the facilities will be good. It is a quiet place, free of hustles, not one of the main cities like Johannesburg or Cape Town.

When asked if Buchanan was also a member of the team that decided on the base,Ganguly reiterated that Buchanan was an important member of the team think-tank but the decision was largely based on Le Rouxs suggestions.

With just 15 days to adjust and acclimatise before the IPL kicks off on April 18,the first batch of KKR members, especially the youngsters, have already started their camp in South Africa. Ganguly is expected to leave with the rest of the KKR players and team management on Saturday.

Meanwhile,KKR also launched the Para cricket series with 32 teams participating. The series,to be played across the city from April 10 to 17,will see the teams divided into two zones,North and South with the winning team will getting an all expenses paid trip to South Africa. The tournament will be a 10 overs-a-side event.
