India willing to reduce border troops if Pak stops terrorists

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is willing to limit troops along the Indo-Pak border if Pakistan stops terrorists from coming to India,according to an influential US Senator who met the Indian leader recently.

8220;In India,our Congressional delegation met with Prime Minister Singh. I put the question to him,would he be willing to have a limitation with Pakistan on the number of troops on the border,which would liberate Pakistani troops to help us fight al-Qaeda in Pakistan,8221; Senator Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania said on the Senate floor on Monday night.

8220;Prime Minister Singh said he would,if the terrorists would be stopped from coming into India,as they blew up the hotel in Mumbai more than a year ago,8221; the Senator,who met Singh in New Delhi last month,told US lawmakers. The Mumbai attacks in November 2008,carried out by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba,had claimed 166 lives.
