Fridays draw for the tournament also set up potential quarterfinals between four-time champion Rafael Nadal and seventh-seeded Fernando Verdasco,No. 3 Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick,and No. 4 Andy Murray and No. 8 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

The most intriguing first-round match pits Murray against Richard Gasquet,the Frenchman who served a ban last year after testing positive for cocaine.

In the womens draw,four-time champion Justine Henins return to Roland Garros could include a third-round match against Maria Sharapova and a quarterfinal against Serena Williams.

Play begins Sunday.
