Crackdown on Ramdev an internal Indian issue: US

US today said that the forceful eviction of yoga guru Ramdev and his followers from Ramlila Maidan is an internal Indian issue at this point.

State Department Spokesman Mark Toner said that United States support the right to peaceful assembly,but it is also an obligation on the part of the people to adhere to proper security measures and laws.

In responding to reporters question he said there is no parallel between Tiananmen Square massacre and police action at Ramdev8217;s protest congregation.
