Kolkata: Sourav Ganguly has decided not to play in four-day Ranji matches in future but would continue featuring in domestic one-day competition. Sambaran Banerjee,CAB selection committee chairman,said Ganguly had informed him about the decision during the Ranji league tie between Bengal and Delhi where the left-hander scored a century.

Ponting embarrassed

perth: Australian captain Ricky Ponting has expressed embarrassment after three of his team mates Brad Haddin,Mitchell Johnson and Shane Watson were reported in the Perth Test against the West Indies.

Im not proud of the fact,Im sure the players arent proud of the fact either,that weve had three guys reported in the one game. Reports are something weve been really strict on the last couple of years,thats amongst the player group ourselves. And weve actually got a good record on that over the last couple of years. I know all the guys are a bit embarrassed probably and know theyve overstepped the mark, Ponting said.

Kamrans ton in tour game

Hobart: Pakistan were in control of their tour game against Tasmania after scoring 437 in their first innings and then reducing the hosts to 132 for six. Kamran Akmal smashed a brutal 81-ball 109,following Salman Butts 153 on Saturday,to guide Pakistan to a good total. The visiting bowlers,led by Mohd Aamer,made full use of the seaming conditions,leaving Tasmania tottering at 45 for four at one stage.
