The Indian national anthem was allegedly disrespected at the South Asian Games when organisers played it abruptly during a flag-raising ceremony at the badminton court on Saturday.

Flags of the six participating countries were raised together this was a breach of protocol. As per convention,a countrys flag is raised and the national anthem follows. After the flag-raising ceremony, national anthems of all the countries were played one after the other, said an Indian official.

India added four gold and one bronze to top the medal standings on Sunday. Judokas Balvinder Singh and Vikram Solanki, weightlifter Omkar Otari and the mens cycling quartet all won gold. Indian shuttlers assured themselves of at least two medals after making the final in both the mens and womens team events.

However, there was disappointment in squash as both Gaurav Nandrajog and Sandip Jangra lost their respective semi-final matches.
