The exhibits may give the impression that a science fair is under progress but the surroundings bring you face to face with reality. The premise is the Government College of Arts in Sector 10 and on display is a collection of what the Bachelor of Fine Arts final year Applied Art students think of the nuclear deal. 8220;We have an opinion and we will express it the best way we know,8221; remarks Dancy. The campaign 8216;Nuclear Deal Why?8217; started as a class assignment by the faculty D S Kapoor, 8220;I wanted to give them something different so that they create something unique in a sphere that they normally don8217;t venture into as art students,8221; Kapoor shares.

Under their faculty8217;s guidance the students did a lot of research on the nuclear deal and why the whole hullabaloo. The result? Presentations and posters on the whole issue. 8220;What we have done is compiled all the facts on nuclear energy, as in what it is, how it will effect us, why it is important, what are the pros and cons8230;all in a very simple manner,8221; shares Kanwalpreet Cheema. Also on display are newspaper clippings of the whole process of the nuke deal. These students believe that it is the responsibility of an artist, especially in the field of advertising, to visually inform and educate the masses. The pull of the campaign is such that one of the special students, Vipin Hero, went ahead to contribute with his pieces despite ill health. But the highlight for sure are the posters wherein students have used various symbols like the money plant, terrorism, the Indian national flag to portray whether or not they support the deal. It8217;s quite interesting to see not only different perspectives but the varied on the same issue. The images are very powerful and have impressed quite many. 8220;In fact, the department of Science and Technology, Punjab, is pondering over the idea of using these images for their publication,8221; adds Kapoor. Way to go guys!
