Pre-monsoon survey begins

AHMEDABAD, May 26: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has started survey of dangerous and dilapidated structures in the city as part of pre-monsoon preparations.

Mayor Joitaram Patel said AMC would warn and serve notices to the owners of the buildings which were posing danger to the public. He said all such structures were being surveyed and would be vacated if found dangerous. He said that AMC officials were also surveying areas where old trees could create danger. Joitaram said a meeting of AMC committee attended by Standing Committee Chairman Dharmendra Shah and other officials also decided that special measures should be taken to ensure proper disposal of rain water.
