CHANDIGARH, SEPT 13: Pratibha of Bhiwani dominated in the 33rd Haryana State Open Badminton Championships at Services Club in Rohtak last night, according to report received here today. Pratibha did not face any challenge in both the finals.

In the women8217;s singles, the Bhiwani shuttler outserved and outsmashed Samritika of Panchkula 11-1, 11-0 and in the doubles, Pratibha and Samritika beat Roma and Himanshi of Ambala 15-13, 15-2. Later, Pratibha went on to claim the girls under-19 singles as well as doubles crowns. In u-19 singles final, Pratibha beat Roma of Faridabad 11-1, 11-6 and in doubles, she and Preetika defeated Samritika and Roma of Panchkula 15-2, 15-2.

Roma, however, had the consolation of winning the girls under-16 girls singles and doubles titles. In singles final she defeated Gauri of Panchkula 11-1, 11-6 and doubles she in association with Gauri beat Amita and Meenu of Bhiwani 15-4, 15-12.

Sukhwinder of Bhiwani also claimed a double. In the boys under-19 singles final, he prevailed over Arvind of Sonepat 13-15, 15-7, 15-3. Later he partnered Satvinder, also of Bhiwani, to beat Sachin and Amit of Bhiwani 15-12, 15-8.

Varinder of Bhiwani walked over Surinder Bhiwani in the men8217;s singles final. Varinder and Surinder combined to beat Sukhvinder and Satvinder 15-12, 15-8 in the doubles final.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-president of Haryana Badminton Association Devinder Singh distributed the prizes. National champion in under-13 Sumit Dhaiya of Bhiwani was given a cash award of Rs 21,000.
