In an important disclosure in the PPSC jobs-for-cash scam, prosecution counsel G.S. Sandhu and D.K. Garg told the court of duty magistrate here yesterday that in the English paper answersheet of Amol Gill, a candidate for PCS judicial, no marks were awarded against individual answers and only total marks were mentioned on title page.

In the court of duty magistrate Gopal Arora, where Pritpal Singh, a former PPSC secretary, had been produced for seeking police remand, the two counsel stated that there were cuttings even on the title page of the said answersheet. The court ordered police remand of Pritpal Singh till July 10. The answersheets are in the custody of Punjab and Haryana High Court and the counsel today did not produce any to substantiate their contention.

The prosecution had heated arguments when they sought five-day police remand for Pritpal saying he had to be interrogated on how 8216;8216;undeserving8217;8217; candidates had been selected to different posts during the tenure of suspended chairman R.P.S. Sidhu.

Meanwhile, former member of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board Kulbir Singh Randhawa was arrested on Monday by the Vigilance Bureau for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a top official said.
