CHANDIGARH, Sept 30: The proposed 500 megawatt power project at Yamunanagar has run into a controversy with AVI Power Ltd, a company based in Chandigarh, accusing the power department of denying it the right to participate in the bid.
In a statement issued here today, AVI Power said the company could not submit its bid for the project as the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam had advanced the closing date for submission of bids by a day.
However, this has been categorically denied by Secretary Power S.Y. Quraishi, who said that the government had repeatedly informed the interested companies about the closing date.
